Jarvis Cocker

I've decided to look at Jarvis Cocker, for a number of reasons. I absolutely adore the man, he has a distinctive geek chic style about him that hasn't changed for years, I like his lyrics, his horrible cringeworthy dancing and his stage presence. I basically used to have a bit of an obsession with him... used to.

Jarvis, the man himself.

Full name, Jarvis Branson Cocker (b.19/09/1963). Cocker is an English musician and popular for being frontman of the British pop band Pulp. As well as being a figurehead for the Britpop movement in the mid 1990s, Cocker has led a successful solo career and even been a part of a new band called Relaxed muscle under the name Darren Spooner.
He's famous for his trademark glasses, geeky clothes and stringy appearance. He founded the band Pulp when he was just fifteen years old, however originally the name was Arabacus Pulp but was shortened (probably for the best). Cocker grew up in Sheffield and studied film at St Martin's College.
One of the reason's I love his music - is because of the realism, how it's about his life. He almost contextualises himself in his music. He also has a lot to say about social culture and spent a lot of his time on talk shows, in my opinion he could easily be one of the greatest politicians - but he's too working class for any of that!

My knowledge of Jarvis Cocker is already ridiculously vast so I suppose I don't really need to do that much actual reading on him - I just need to dig up some images, and quotes! I'd ideally like to start doing some actual drawings and things like that, but I'm still just stuck, I can copy other people's ideas, but then again - how are they relevant? I would like to look at other people who inspire me in one way or another, they are unique!

Annotated space for him.
